What happened during the lifetime of Stacy Wilson?
On December 11, 2006, Stacy Wilson met a gruesome fate at the hands of a machete-wielding assailant within the bus and terminal area in Kingstown, Saint Vincent. Shorn Samuel, the attacker, ruthlessly severed Wilson’s right hand before ultimately taking her life. The shocking incident unfolded in front of horrified onlookers, some of whom captured truly graphic and stunning photographs of the tragic event.
Shorn Samuel Had a Lengthy History of Harassing Stacy Wilson
Stacy Wilson and Shorn Samuel both live in the tiny agricultural town of Vermont located just 12 miles to the north of Kingstown, the capital of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines in the Caribbean.
Samuel also has the name Sean Samuel and Abdul Rahim Parsons, in addition to the name Muslim Islamaam.
Samuel visited his distant cousin Wilson as well as her family regularly. Then, however, the visits started to become more gruesome. Samuel, aged fourteen years older, told Wilson that he wanted to become his better half.
Wilson was unhappy with Samuel and Samuel and informed Wilson not to visit their home for a while. Wilson apologized for his conduct and continued to look at his brows routinely. His excuses were empty.
According to Wilson’s mom, Emelia Nanton Samuel was involved with Wilson before she left for work and started “molesting” the girl. When she was leaving to work, he frequently stated to her, “I am in love with you and you must be my companion.”
As the male was inundated and unmoved by Wilson’s need to be lifted at peace Nanton declares she placed a bowl of Clorox on Samuel’s face to cause him to go away.
Stacy Wilson
She was a typical twenty-one-year-old woman, cruelly murdered by a heartless killer who brutally ended her life. Let’s delve into the significant events tied to her existence, events that ultimately served as the catalyst for her sudden and brutal demise at the hands of Shorn Samuel.
Both Shorn Samuel and Stacy Wilson hailed from the same locality. Shorn harbored romantic feelings for Stacy, aspiring to make her his wife. However, Stacy, having no interest in him, rejected his advances. Undeterred, Shorn Samuel persisted in harassing and causing trouble for her consistently.
On the fateful day of the murder, a heated altercation between the two unfolded at Stacy’s workplace, and Samuel continued to trail her even onto the bus, engaging in a verbal dispute witnessed by onlookers.
Adding to the distress, Stacy’s mother reported to the police that Samuel had persistently harassed her daughter and attempted to molest her.
Moreover, Samuel had a documented history of a psychotic disorder, indicating his mental instability. Despite this, there’s a possibility that his death sentence could be commuted to life imprisonment.
These factors collectively contributed to the tragic murder of this innocent young woman.
Not the First Beheading on Saint Vincent
The Caribbean archipelago known as Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, comprising tiny islands, boasts a population of 110,000. However, Stacy Wilson’s beheading is not the first instance of such brutality in this Eastern Caribbean nation.
In January 2003, the decapitated body of 68-year-old Albert Browne was discovered near a banana field in the southern Saint Vincent region of Marriaqua. Police traced footprints leading approximately 300 feet away to Browne’s body, concealed in a banana pit and covered with a pair of pants.
This murder, considered one of the most horrifying in the country’s recent history at the time, led to the conviction of Daniel Trimmingham. In 2019, he was sentenced to death.
Stacy Wilson Crime Scene
Certainly, it was an ordinary day after work for Stacy Wilson as she made her way to the bus station to secure her seat. Among the horrified witnesses present, Stacy encountered Samuel and engaged in a heated argument. After lingering near the conductor’s entrance for a while, Samuel departed briefly, only to return wielding a menacing cutlass before perpetrating his heinous act.
In a desperate attempt to escape her impending doom, Stacy tried to exit through the bus window. However, a stronger and swifter man thwarted her efforts, pulling her off the bus. He ruthlessly severed her right hand at the wrist, and as she crumpled to the ground, he mercilessly slashed her neck. Another observer, their voice trembling, recounted that the assailant briefly cradled her head in his arms before placing it on the ground.
A Loss to Her Whole Community
On the Tuesday of December 19th, the week following, a gathering of family, friends, and even strangers assembled at the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Vermont to honor the life of Stacy Wilson. Throughout the funeral ceremony, Stacy’s mother, Emelia Nanton, displayed remarkable strength. Close friends, colleagues, and family members shared anecdotes about Stacy’s life, emphasizing the irreplaceable void left in their hearts by her untimely departure.
During the service, Priest Terrance Haynes delivered a poignant speech, urging everyone to approach life with greater seriousness. “The life we live belongs to God; it is precious,” he proclaimed, emphasizing the need to remain attuned to the spiritual realm.
Haynes expressed concern about the encroachment of the enemy among the innocent and the cheapening of life. He called for a return to normalcy and criticized those who callously shared disturbing images of Wilson’s body on the internet.
Following the service, a solemn procession from the church to the cemetery unfolded amid pouring rain. The assembled crowd sang songs and choruses dedicated to Wilson, commemorating her memory.
Murderer Shorn Samuel Made Demands
In the years following Shorn Samuel’s arrest in connection with Stacy Wilson’s murder, he insisted on being housed in a specific prison cell, citing concerns for his safety. Samuel was averse to receiving reprimands from both officers and fellow inmates.
Furthermore, Samuel demanded access to new trial records, asserting that the existing documents had been damaged. In an unusual claim, he accused attorney Ronald Marks of threatening him with a three-year prison sentence if he declined to retain his services, even though Marks wasn’t his lawyer.
As Samuel’s behavior became increasingly troublesome, he declared his refusal to stand during the national anthem, citing a family tradition set by his grandfather. “I will adhere to my beliefs. I’m not blaming you. You know what you’re doing,” Samuel asserted.
In response, Justice Gertel Thom reminded Samuel that, while in Her Majesty’s Prison, he would be required to abide by the established rules.
Murder Seems to Run in the Family
The saga doesn’t conclude with Shorn Samuel’s imprisonment; instead, a series of dramas and tragedies continued to afflict his family.
On April 15, 2013, Rosette Samuel, Shorn’s sister and an off-duty police officer from the New York Police Division, committed a gruesome act. She murdered her (presumably former) partner, who was about to depart for Guyana, and then proceeded to kill her infant before turning the gun on herself.
Dason Peters, 33 years old, was discovered near the front door, lying face-down in a pool of blood. Rosette, aged 43, was found dead in bed from a self-inflicted gunshot. Beside her lay a 9mm Glock, the weapon used, and her infant son, Dylan Samuel Peters, with a gunshot wound to the chest.
At the time, Rosette’s first daughter, Dondre Samuel, aged 19, managed to escape through a window when the violent episode erupted. Dondre informed the police that her mother and Peters had been engaged in a night-long altercation. Rosette had even contacted the 108th Precinct, notifying them of her anticipated tardiness for an appointment the next day.
Colleagues in the Traffic Control Department described Rosette as a reserved person who seldom smiled. “She was solitary and not really friendly. She didn’t have many friends,” one colleague remarked. None of her coworkers reported any signs of violence, with one officer stating, “There was no evidence that she was going through any issues.”
Stacy Wilson’s Mom Wants Peace
As is often the case, the occurrence of a new crime tends to unearth previously undisclosed ones. Emelia Nanton, Stacy Wilson’s mother, striving to regain normalcy in her life, found herself subjected to another round of inquiries in the aftermath of Rosette Samuel’s suicide.
All she wants is to be in peace to take care of herself.
“People keep approaching me, sharing stories about how God responds to prayers and the events that unfold,” she expressed.
“While this incident involved Shorn’s sister, and I’m seeking people who advocate kindness and prayer for one another, there are those who act as if I wished for such events to occur.”
Emphasizing that the desires and prayers of others differ from hers, she added, “God does not resort to evil to bring about improvement.”
Last Goodbye
Stacy Wilson’s loved ones bid their final farewell to her, tears streaming down their faces. The emotional state of her mother was in disarray throughout the funeral. Family members, colleagues, friends, neighbors, and relatives all shed tears as they reminisced about her life and cherished qualities. The church pastor reminded everyone that returning to God is inevitable.
As the ceremony concluded, she was laid to rest, leaving a vast emptiness in the lives of family members and acquaintances that no one could ever fill as long as they lived. Especially for her mother, life will never be the same after the loss of her beloved daughter. Each time she smiles, her daughter’s face will appear in her mind, bringing tears to her eyes.
